JC Chasez hates to shop for clothes. "I like window shopping," says the 26-year-old *NSYNC'er, who has been known to cruise the red carpet in jeans, flip-flops, and a hippie shirt. We've witnessed this often. "If I think something looks cool, I just take it home and hope it fits." The nice thing about being a star is that you sometimes score something really cool at a photo shoot if you're extra polite to the stylist. Lucky for us, JC didn't get too attached to this Armani denim jacket, which he wore for a shoot promoting his debut solo album Schizophrenic.

See how the *NSYNC'er dresses when all his stylists have left for the day.
By Lauren Ambrose
What does it take to be a boy-band fashion plate? You need to be a fast dresser (Teen Choice Awards nominees *NSYNC change outfits like 50 times in one show). You also have to be a clotheshorse. We heard JC Chasez has the hugest closet of all the *NSYNC guys, so we fired off our juiciest fashion questions. Along the way, we found out he's charming, too. JC called me "honey" on the phone and quieted his bandmates when they got noisy in the background. He's proof that being smooth isn't just how you dress, it's how you carry yourself. But enough "personality counts" talk; let's get in his drawers!
Have you ever refused to do something for a photo shoot?
In Germany people wanted to get us with our shirts off. We're not posers but eventually we said, "Screw it, no one will see it." But then everyone saw it.
What have you worn that you can't believe you did?
We wore these big plastic, pleathery, poufy space suits our first time at the American Music Awards. We were laughing about them just the other day!
So when you're not dressed by NASA, what do you wear?
Roberto Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbana, and Levi's are always a classic, man.
Do you shop, or do you prefer having clothes chosen for you?
I do like shopping from time to time.
What do you lounge around in?
Jeans and T-shirts. Banana Republic stretch V-necks are my all-time favorite. I also wear flip-flops and a trucker hat.
Do you still shop with your mom?
No. The poor old lady would wait forever.
Did she get impatient in the past?
I never used to try on clothes. I still don't; only shirts. Jeans usually fit - I've worn the same size jeans, 31, since I was 16.
I'm sure your style has changed!
Oh, sure. For a while I'd get baggy jeans, then I was into skintight ones, then medium fit. Now I wear a few of each.
Would you change your outfit if your mom didn't like it?
I'd say, "You don't get it." I don't change for people. I won't wear spandex and offend people with my chicken legs...
What's sexiest on a girl?
It depends on the situation. A sundress on a warm day is incredible, but jeans and a tank top can also be sexy as hell.
Shoes or sneakers?
Flip-flops from Sanuk, Banana Republic or Gap. Gap's are only about seven bucks but they're so comfortable.
The cheapest ones often are.
Dude, for sure! But my favorite pairs are still my Sanuks - they're snakeskin slides.
What do you wear to go out?
Whatever I have on that day, usually jeans. But I put on black boots, not flip-flops, so drinks don't get spilled on my feet!
So are you really the group's biggest clotheshorse?
Joey's probably the clotheshorse, and Justin's the shoehorse.

JC Chasez is one refined dude. He's suave in a light gray Valentino suit with funky Fendi shades and slightly scruffy hair. Does he dress differently depending on his performance? "Oh yeah, I always go classy when I'm singing a ballad," he says, clearly proving to the NFL he's no bad booby boy, like his naughty pal Justin.

*NSYNC's blue-eyed hottie scored with his hair for the first time in a long time! It finally looks like he's stopped letting squirrels nest in it. JC opted for leather this show, which he usually looks good in. However, his shirt resembled a big, leather sweatshirt, complete with big elastic cuffs and waistbands. Did he grab it out of the discount bin at Walmart or what? Dude, you have money - spend it!

Trumpets are blaring and angels are singing, and it's not because Lil Kim's stolen bling was recovered at JFK Airport. No, ladies, get ready to drool: singer JC Chasez has finally gotten a haircut.
The normally sexy *NSYNC solo star had not had a noticeable haircut since 2001, and had seemingly disposed of all necessary styling products, excepting massive quantities of gel. JC's wild, yet controlled tresses of the Celebrity tour gave way to a curly, matted 'fro and then, to the mid-90s signature Jennifer Aniston face frame. It was this last style that became reason for alarm. With his freshly-ironed hair at near-Rapunzel lengths, JC became concerned that kids might confuse him with The Lion King and think that the talented pop tart had turned to Broadway. Horrors! Many of his older fans were extremely turned off by the new look and began to wonder if his breakup with Tara Reid resulted with her taking possession of all his mirrors. To swathe such a delicious face under all that hair was a travesty.
JC took immediate action, and now he sports a curly semi-fro. While his hair is not quite of the 'fuck me' caliber of summer 2001, it is quite alluring. Armed with shorter, sexier locks, a hot oil treatment, and plenty of Nick Chavez Hair Flocker, JC is now ready to promote his upcoming album in style. A special thanks to JC for modeling the button-down oxfords from the upcoming Bunny on a Stick Menswear Collection, available Fall 2036.
